Important notes

• The 540i replaced the previous generation's N55 engine with the newer B58 engine in most markets from 2017 onwards.
• Turbocharged inline-6 engines are standard; diesel or four-cylinder engines are not classified as 540i but other 5 Series trims.
• Engine oil capacity and service fill includes filter change; values may have ±0.2 L variation according to region and workshop practices.
