2002 CHEVROLET Impala LS1/3.8L L36 V6 (GM W-body)
GM W-body / LS1, 3.8L L36 V6 / Available with a 3.4L LA1 V6 (early 2002 models, phased out), a 3.8L L36 V6, or a 3.8L supercharged L67 V6 in SS trims, and a 3.8L naturally aspirated V6 in base / LT trims. No V8 offered in 2002 Impala sedans.
2003 CHEVROLET Impala L61/LS1 (GMX220)
GMX220 / L61, LS1 / The 2003 Chevrolet Impala was primarily offered with two main engines: the 3.4L V6 (code L61) for base trims, and the 3.8L V6 (code LS1) for more upscale trims in some markets. The L61 is an aluminum 3.4L V6 producing around 180 hp. Some police or fleet versions used a 3.8L V6 variant.

2015 CHEVROLET Impala LF1/LFX (W)
W / LF1, LFX, V6 3.6L DI / The 2015 Chevrolet Impala mainly featured two V6 engines: a 3.6L V6 (LFX) with dual overhead cams and direct injection producing approximately 305 hp, and a 3.6L DI V6 (LF1) used for flexible fuel variants. A 2.5L inline-4 LCV engine was discontinued after 2014, so was not available in 2015.
2016 CHEVROLET Impala LFW/LF1 (CPS169)
CPS169 / LFW, LF1, LZ1 / The 2016 Impala was offered primarily with three engines: a 2.5L I4 (LAF), a 2.4L I4 EcoTec (LKW) in some markets, and a 3.6L V6 (LFX in earlier years, LZ1 updated in 2016). In the US, main engines were the 2.5L inline-4 and the 3.6L V6. Other markets may have variations, but the 3.6L V6 LZ1 is the primary updated engine for 2016.
2017 CHEVROLET Impala LFX/LGX (W)
W / LFX, LGX, L83 / 2017 Impala was offered with different V6 and V8 engines depending on market and trim including a 3.6L V6 (LGX and LFX) and a 5.3L V8 (L83) in SS trims for North America. Other markets primarily received the 3.6L V6 variants.
